Matthew V. Mosley, age 46, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. He was born January 16, 1974 and was a resident of Long Beach, Calif. He was a graduate of Long Beach Polytechnical High School in 1992, and was a longtime scorekeeper for the school’s football and basketball teams.

He married his heart and soul, Tobi (they were born on the same day), on August 30, 2008. They had a son named Marcus and daughter named Leilane that were their pride and joy. He was a supervisor of security guards for over 20 years. He was a down to earth guy who treated everybody with respect. Sports were a passion of his. He loved to play bowling, basketball and golf. His favorite teams were the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Cowboys. Kobe Bryant was his favorite athlete.

His foray into bowling began at Cal Bowl in Lakewood as part of the Long Beach City Employees League on Mondays. Since then he was a member of the Fil-Am League, Mega Vegas Tuesday, Competitive Doubles League and the former Kings & Queens league at Cal Bowl.

He also bowled at Del Rio Lanes in Downey, participating in the Baker League, Jackpot Trios and Brunswick Invitational leagues. Matthew ran sidepots for bowlers to compete against one another and enjoy, and always had a smile on his face, and was quick to tease his friends.

Please keep Tobi, Marcus, Leilane and the Mosley family in your prayers. Matthew will be greatly missed.
